The Window Pane

On a lazy afternoon, a mother and son are trying to unravel the mysteries of the intriguing world. For the little one, the window pane assumingly acts as a gateway to the world, while the mother relives her childhood along with her son!!
Maa, what lies outside this window pane?
Is that yellow building full of children like me?
Is it full of many Maa like you?
Why don't they all live with us?
When shall we meet all of them?
Will we find there the bird that sings so sweet?
What is this world?
Why I am here?
Who am I?

My dear son, said dear Maa
What you ask has troubled the wisest of wise
Yet, I would make a try rather than turning into ice!

That what lies outside is called the world.
Not alone the building-
On the huge scale of timeline,
This Earth bears children like you
And mothers like me.

Man seeks status, thence they don't live with us.
Born from the same source in same way-
Man seeks and celebrates difference all the way,
In the endless search of uniqueness
He ends at the same point where he started this fray.

We will meet them all in this celebration called life.
Share same origins we all might
We will meet them all in this journey of life,
Different faces different names they might have
You might meet some as friends and someone as wife.

Sweet are the songs of adversity, said one wise man.
Sweetness is all around, my son
Keep tuning your ears for the sweetest song,
Life will treat you with fruits sweet and sour
Enjoy as life bird sings for you all days and nights long.

This world is our reflection.
It is a mystery written in cryptic script
Yet, it is as simple and as complex as we are,
While you grow up, observe all but absorb what is fair
My son, this world looks just the way we are!

Nothing happens without reason, my ward!
Endless are the possibilities for man
Develop you must faculties to observe and hear,
With the passage of unceasing circle of time
You will know why you are here.

Cut short, you are my son!
But that alone is not what you are
Every breath you take I live again with you,
When the world would end for me one day
I will live through you to tell who you are.

Till then my son, relent not!
Live life the way you feel true to the Self
For this world demands endless action streak,
Do not partake in the blind rat race
You are your mother's pride not some nerdy freak.

Remember this truth my son,
While the world will end for me one day
My son, I will keep living through you!!
