Oh FLOOD!

Allahabad Flood, 2013 (Link to the Album)
Oh Flood! I knew you only as a metaphor
When I drowned in my miseries
In all the emotive vain
But here you are- real and stark
In all your force
Making me realise my minuteness
Confining me against my will
Showing me the boundaries
Which were always there, perhaps beyond my sight
I sense your fury conveying nature’s wrath
As if,
Its only me who is liable
Culpable of all that is wrong here
I wish to be punished,
But not by the law of the land
Its finesse hurts me
It has all but rawness of nature’s law
Flow me away with you oh Flood!
Along with all my past and present
Lead me to the future unbound
Unwary of milieus and customs mundane
Let me travel free
Caressing, frightening, destroying all
That comes in my way.

But, then I am no celestial creation like you
To dream so big
I may relate but can not emulate you
For I am a minuscule man
Bound by chores, aspirations, ambitions, delusions
And, by nothing less than
My own LIFE!
