Memories are most precious intangible entities that exist by our side forever. Eternity in the strictest meaning of the term is perhaps an utopia, if sought to be achieved in this mortal world. But, we can surely affirm our allegiance to the memories which are and shall remain with us – our golden school days!! All these thoughts cropped up in my mind when I visited the website of MPVM Alumni Association(http://www.mpvmalumni.com/). At that point of time, I realised that attachment with one’s alma mater is undeniable and perhaps indispensible.
I still remember the selfless camaraderie which blossomed in the campus of school amongst us. I still remember the eagerness to share our thoughts uninhibitedly during the recess or during the class irrespective of the presence of a teacher or in the cycle stand or in the bus or anywhere where it was possible. I still remember the jubilations amongst our friends when any one of us got recognition in any form. I still remember the adventure of peeping out of the class or innovating the ever novel modes of interaction (perhaps not thought by the present day intelligence agencies even)!! The list is endless and I wish it always remains so. Conclusion which can be safely drawn is that ‘whether sweet our sour, it is OURS.’
So let us make it an annual ritual to celebrate our association with the institution where we have spent most ebullient times of our lives. Some amongst us have taken an initiative by forming an alumni association namely MPVM Alumni Association. Let us support them to flourish this endeavour in the best possible way. It will not consume anything but will only confer an opportunity to rejuvenate ourselves from the otherwise tardy proceedings of our lives.
A platform has been created. Let us decorate it with exquisite confetti of our cherished memories, creativity and most importantly the miasmic feelings which never die and cannot be refuted by anyone of us. Once again I repeat ‘WHETHER SWEET OR SOUR, BUT IT IS OURS.’ Let us avail this opportunity to retrace our roots of learning and friendship, which makes us what we are!! Let us make this association and our connection with it an archetypal phenomenon.
NOTE: – This year’s alumni meet is being held on 18th October, 2009. Try to be part of it and enrich it with your talent and reminiscence of the incidents which bring smile to your faces!!!
